A free and open-source application program called Freeplane helps people think, share tips, and complete tasks at home, at play, or in the classroom.

The data contained in imagination charts can be analyzed using the application.

Important Features Include:

  1. Take note of taking with freely positioned, unconnected nodes( post-it’s’s ). creating a hierarchy of concepts( nodes ) with lines( edges ) connecting them. Nodes are categorized using metadata( attributes ) and different style types( system, user-defined, and level styles ). clustering nodes with accolade( summary node ) and visual containers( clouds ).
  2. Tasking with a calendar and reminders, passcode protection for the entire map and private nodes using Des encryption, user-friendly interface with line and dialog editors, object-oriented main menu, context menu options, multi-language support, spell checker, properties panel, drag-and-drop functionality, warm keys, options for batch execution, publishing, sharing, and configurable preferences.

Freeplane can be used locally or portablely from detachable store, such as a Usb drive, and may go on any operating system with the most recent adaptation of Java installed.
